Transitioning from Military to Civilian Work

A while back I got an email from Ben Vanderneck, the job seeker point of contact for MilitaryStars, a career expo company that hosts free hiring events across the country that helps current and former military personnel find civilian careers.

Ben writes about military-to-civilian issues in the MilitaryStars blog. Right now he's helping to build veteran hiring awareness in the oil and gas industries. He read my post on hiring in the energy industries I wrote last year and directed my attention to a free white paper MilitaryStars has out on hiring military in the energy industries.

Military personnel need and deserve support transitioning to civilian work. I did a little investigating and found these additional resources to assist people with military experience:

www.recruitveterans.com
www.veteranemployment.com
www.lucasgroup.com
www.hirepatriots.com
www.greentogray.com

Thank you for the mention, Heather! More resources: MilitaryStars' parent company, Orion International, is at http://www.orioninternational.com . They are the nation's largest military recruiting firm, have found civilian careers for over 17,000 veterans since their inception in 1991, and they work with both Junior Military Officers and enlisted technicians and leaders. All job seeker services are free. Thanks!

Heather, thanks for the link to Bradley-Morris, Inc. (BMI), www.Bradley-Morris.com . Who is in fact the “largest” company in the space might be debatable, but clients and candidates tell us that our comprehensive suite of services and documented high levels of satisfaction (www.Bradley-Morris.com/bmi_testimonials.html) are key decision factors when choosing a placement firm.

Let us know if we can assist you with this important topic in the future.
